About the role
Our world is transforming, and PTC is leading the way. Our software brings the physical and digital worlds together, enabling companies to improve operations, create better products, and empower people in all aspects of their business.
Our people make all the difference in our success. Today, we are a global team of nearly 7,000 and our main objective is to create opportunities for our team members to explore, learn, and grow – all while seeing their ideas come to life and celebrating the differences that make us who we are and the work we do possible.
What you'll do
- We are seeking a technically strong and execution-oriented Technical Product Manager to help advance the Windchill+ SaaS platform. The role partners closely with Product Management, Platform R&D, Quality Assurance, Cloud Engineering, and service operations teams to translate platform requirements into well-defined, executable development backlogs.
- The immediate focus is platform release execution performed directly with R&D teams. This includes release readiness, technical improvements, security and compliance changes, infrastructure evolution, validation, retrofitting, and other work required to advance and maintain the platform. The TPM will operate under the mentorship of the lead Windchill+ Platform TPM while progressively assuming ownership of recurring backlog, dependency, and release-management responsibilities.
- Over time, the role will expand into broader service-level improvements. The TPM will help define how platform capabilities affect the Windchill+ service experience and will apply Design for Operations thinking earlier in the development lifecycle. Design for Operations is an evolving practice within the organization, and this role will help establish practical ways to incorporate operational requirements, installed-base impacts, customer enablement, and service readiness into backlog definition.
- The responsibilities below represent a superset of the work this role may perform. Actual day-to-day focus will vary over the course of any given release and across releases. The TPM is not expected to perform all of these responsibilities all of the time, or to do so without support from the broader team.
- Partner directly with Windchill+ Platform R&D teams to define, refine, prioritize, and maintain executable product backlogs.
- Translate product, service, security, compliance, and operational requirements into clear deliverables, epics, stories, acceptance criteria, and release outcomes.
- Own day-to-day TPM execution for assigned platform initiatives through discovery, planning, development, validation, and release.
- Coordinate platform readiness for Windchill product releases, maintenance releases, security updates, supporting component changes, and installed-base retrofits.
- Work with engineering and QA leads to assess technical approaches, dependencies, resource needs, delivery estimates, validation requirements, and release feasibility.
- Lead backlog refinement and support sprint planning, PI planning, release planning, story acceptance, and TPM readouts with globally distributed Agile teams.
- Manage work across Product Management, Platform R&D, QA, Cloud Engineering, operations, integrated products, and shared services, converting dependencies into explicit backlog and accountable ownership.
- Facilitate technical discovery and design spikes when requirements, architecture, or operational impacts are not sufficiently understood.
Nice to have
- Experience with Windchill installation, deployment, administration, integrations, or functional capabilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other public or private cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, infrastructure automation, Docker, Kubernetes, or enterprise application deployment technologies.
- Familiarity with Java-based enterprise application architectures, REST APIs, scripting, Linux, and secure communication technologies.
- Experience with Jira or similar requirements and backlog management systems.
- Understanding of application security, compliance, identity and access management, monitoring, and operational validation.
- Experience supporting SaaS releases, platform updates, maintenance releases, security updates, or installed-base retrofits.
- Exposure to service design, operational readiness, or product-to-operations transition practices.
